The catalog opens up, and the list gets polished

Baby products, pet supplies, liquor and beauty join the catalog. Plus a batch of small shopping-list fixes — removing, undoing, where to add — that add up to feeling big.

Nada Menos had started out comparing what anyone buys every week: food, cleaning supplies, personal care. But a household’s real shopping doesn’t stop there. This milestone opened the catalog to categories that were missing — baby products, pet supplies, liquor, beauty — so someone’s list wouldn’t have to be split between “what Nada Menos compares” and “what I look up somewhere else.”

In parallel, I spent a full day on something that doesn’t sound like much on a feature list but is felt all the time: the shopping list itself. Removing a product now looks like a real action, with its own icon and a way to undo it, instead of small text off to the side. Adding something new has one single place to do it, not three different ones depending on where you’re standing. A list built halfway no longer disappears if you close the app before saving it. None of these changes is a big deal on its own; together they’re the difference between a tool that feels finished and one that feels half-built.

With the catalog more complete and the list better cared for, something I’d been putting off since the start was still waiting: stepping back to look at the whole interface, not fix by fix, and asking whether the way it was built was still the right one.
