The price depends on who is asking

Some stores charge differently depending on the card or membership you use. Ignoring that meant the "cheapest" price we showed wasn't always the real one.

Up to this point, Nada Menos assumed something that sounded reasonable and wasn’t quite true: that a product has one price, period. In practice, several stores charge differently depending on the card you pay with or the membership you hold. Showing the sticker price and ignoring that meant, in some cases, telling someone a store was the cheapest when it actually wasn’t for the way they pay.

Adding this wasn’t just one more number on each card. It meant rethinking the comparator so price stopped being a single fixed figure and started depending on who’s asking: a person now saves which cards and memberships they hold in their profile, and the whole plan — the savings, the ranking, the comparison across stores — gets recalculated with that in mind. The savings from using the right card are shown separately from the savings from splitting a purchase across stores, because they’re two different decisions, and someone might want to take advantage of one without the other.

With price now settled according to who’s asking, what was left wasn’t really about the catalog anymore — it was about putting all of this in someone’s pocket: turning it into an app they could actually install on their phone.
